Itchy gums during pregnancy?
Has anyone had itchy sore gums during their pregnancy? I've done some reading up on itchy gums and it could lead to periodontal disease (where the gums dissolve and teeth come loose!). This has really freaked me out.. I guess I shouldn't get ahead of myself, so if you've experienced this please let me know so I can put my mind at ease.
I went to see the Dentist on Tuesday and he had to end up taking one of my teeth out :(...
After that day my gums have been itchy like CRAZY I really want to stick something and scratch...sorry for the 411 but its bad!
Im going to call them tomorrow since the office was closed today and see what can be done
Im going crazy. But was wondering if anyone else had experienced this? I've had endless teeth/gum troubles throughout this pregnancy! So frustrating. Thanks in advance.

Sorry- I haven't experienced this issue..My gums bleed a lot during the first trimester..but they have been okay since. Maybe your having a reaction (mild) to whatever they gave you to pull that tooth. Your doing the right thing calling- perhaps they have a dentist on call or you could call another clinic to just see if it could be a reaction since your preggy- and need to be careful. Hope you are well soon!!
My advice is brush alot... anytime you eat and use mouthwash to keep it clean in there.
Personnally, I chew alot of sf gum when this problems comes up... and it has every once in awhile. Sometimes I floss the itchy spots for awhile and rinse or brush good. It makes my mouth sore, but it releaves the itch.
If it's bad and unrelenting you should see a dentist, especially since you're carrying multiples and your hormones are higher than mine.
Good luck.
